Separation of Duties- the roles of the Governing Board, Headteacher and Bursar

Governor Involvement

Governors are becoming more involved not only with the school as a whole but with individual classes and subjects. Each governor has been assigned to a subject or area of school life. They will then report back to the committees sharing both successes and any questions that may have been raised. Each governor will also concentrate on a particular area that is of interest to Ofsted and again share that deeper understanding; this should enable us to be a stronger more aware Governing Body better able to take the school forward.

Governors meet regularly, we have a Resources committee, (which focuses on staffing, finance, premises and health and safety) and a Standards and Effectiveness committee, which looks at matters concerning teaching and learning.
