  • Online Safety Ambassadors

Our Online Safety Ambassadors have been selected by the School Council after reviewing each application letter. The purpose of the  Online Safety Ambassadors is to Online Safety is to help keep the children at St Leonard's safe online by promoting positive online behaviour and raising awareness of online risks. The Online Safety Ambassadors demonstrate our school values of  love and value for all, aspire, flourish and shine, learn, remember and do and to share faith and hope by encouraging us to think of how we behave online at school and out in the wider world.

Online Safety Ambassadors meetings are held with Miss Kealey and the children are currently undergoing their training with Be Web-Safe.

    September 2025

Our Online Safety Ambassadors are proactive and excited to start making a positive impact towards our behaviour online. They will be introducing the school to our new online safety policy with Be Web-Safe, displaying posters in each class and promoting our four key messages, safe, appropriate, friendly and educated (SAFE). They have already created ideas for our display board, making it more interactive and how to create a safer space for children to come forward with any online concerns.

    October 2025

This month the Online Safety Ambassadors are reminding our children in school about SAFE and will then be testing to see how much information they have retained with a quick quiz at the end of the month. They have been speaking with class teachers to make sure their desktop background is our whole school Be-Web safe background and are looking into how they will ensure all chromebooks have these.

    November 2025

This month the Online Safety Ambassadors are talking to children and demonstrating how to remain safe online when researching, donating and promoting Remembrance Day. They have also been creating cyberbullying awareness posters and holding their own pupil voice about children feeling safe online.

    December 2025

This month the Online Safety Ambassadors are talking to children about their understanding of BE-SAFE and how we can improve our online safety sessions. The children have provided advice to children to spend less time online and more time with family and friends over the Christmas period.

    January 2026

This month the Online Safety Ambassadors are focusing on AI (artificial intelligence), looking at the positives, negatives and building a greater understanding of what it is. The ambassadors have been challenging the children to identify AI in school and at home.  The ambassadors have researched into how AI is helping develop our world through many different ways, such as life-changing medicine and robotic bees. The ambassadors have spent more time looking  at and explaining to our children the dangers of AI and giving us the skills to keep us safe. They really enjoyed playing Real or not real with images.
