  • Religious Education and Worship

We are extremely proud to be a Church school with a strong Christian distinctiveness. Our theologically rooted, Christian vision is firmly rooted in all aspects of our school life.  Daily worship, our pupil promises and the four elements of our school badge help us to live out our mission, growing in grace and knowledge as we follow in Jesus’ footsteps. This permeates all that we do and is understood by each individual by our agreed and spoken spiritual language.

Our spiritual language is evident in our identification of the 'ows,' 'wows' and 'nows' of life. It is by pausing in the day that we reflect on our experiences and develop our recognition of how God is with us in all circumstances. This spiritual language is used from the youngest to the oldest in our school, giving us a shared language and a shared understanding of each other, enabling us to reflect our school vision in all that we do.

    Spirituality Days

In our final week before Christmas, we spent a day reflecting on how the birth of Jesus is celebrated around the World. This gave us an understanding of how big God's family is, how multi-cultural, how all-inclusive and how incredible the birth of Jesus was. We learnt when and how people celebrated and that no matter what took place, Jesus was at the centre of it all.

In our week before Easter, we spent time reflecting on our day of prayer taking time to look at praise, preparation and power.

    St Leonard's Day

We have had a fantastic fun-filled day of learning and celebrating the life of St Leonard from looking at who was St Leonard? to How can we live like St Leonard in our School, church and Community? Father Mike led us in a beautiful worship at the start of the day, where he talked about what a saint is and led a Eucharist as part of that. Throughout the day children were led through exciting activities to complete, including a picture and word hunt game in church. To close the day we were led in a wonderful worship by our headteacher, Mrs Lindly, and Father Mike in our school playground.
