Welcome to Oak class

" We nurture and enrich our little acorns so they can become Mighty Oaks"

Thank you to all the parents who attended the meeting regarding Borwick Hall. Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please come in and talk to the Year 6 staff.

Please have a look at the exciting topics we will be covering with your children this year.

Christianity Week School Worship

Well done to Harris, Maddy, Amber, Freya, Libby, Izzy, James and Matthew, from Oak Class, who lead a fabulous worship on Monday morning for the start of Christianity Week in school.

The children used role play to present their research on Christianity in England, USA and Mexico. They also showed a video about the work of the charity Christian Aid and read the bible story of Daniel and the Lion.

Thank you children for your wonderful worship, a perfect start to Christianity Week.

Oak class were phenomenal in our KS2 production 'Madagascar'.

We could not be more proud of all your hard work, it certainly paid off.

Oak class had a wonderful time during COOL week. Lots of dance, poetry, painting, flowerpot character making and prayer time in church!

Handball Training With Rovers Players!

During Autumn Term 2, Oak Class take part in weekly sports/PE sessions led by the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, in conjunction with the Premier League Primary Stars sports and education initiative.

Last week, the children were excited to have two Blackburn Rovers players, Corry Evans and Anthony Stokes join them for their PE lesson. They were thrilled to have the players join in with their handball training.

During the afternoon they also visited Silver Birch Class where they took part in a question and answer session with the children.

The players' visit was filmed by Blackburn Rovers and a short video of their afternoon in school has been uploaded by the club to YouTube.

Our fabulous children were able to unwind after SATs week with some outdoor team games, such as 'Football Rounders'.

Oak class love to get sporty. We have recently taken part in many tournaments, from Netball, Football, Tag Rugby and all those in between.

We not only love playing these sports but enjoy learning the many rules that come along with them and the importance of fitness and healthy living.
