Antarctica

How big is a blue whale?

To celebrate the end of our topic learning about the Antarctic and Ice Explorers, we went outside to discover the size of a blue whale... We used chalk to draw a blue whale that was 25 metres long, some killer whales, albatrosses and of course penguins!

Chinese New Year

We celebrated Chinese New Year by learning the story of the Chinese Zodiac, doing Chinese Writing, tasting food, dressing up and handling artefacts.

Our Year 1 children took a trip to the RSPB centre during 'COOL WEEK 2' where they learnt about the parts of a plant (acting out the different parts in groups), making fabulous smelly smoothies, taking part in a flower hunt, searching the beach for mini beasts and watching them wiggle back under the sand, making sand art, running down sand dunes and of course enjoying a cone of ice cream.

What an amazing day.

Holly class thoroughly enjoyed 'COOL WEEK 2'.

Our amazing week included making clay faces on the trees in the woods, animal orienteering, creating prayer flags and streamers, a visit from the district nurse about the importance of hand washing, a police visit, prayer space activities in church and many, many more.

Our children have learnt so much throughout this week and have loved every minute.

To watch our 'COOL' week singing workshop please click here.

Holly class have created some fantastic flower pot creations, clay tiles and have started to create a frame around their Monet painting. They also had the chance to taste many different vegetables and fruits whilst making 'veg faces'.

Our Victorian children looking fabulous!
